Boo has lived at TLEC since 2007 and is a registered paint. He is a caring, young, and unique personality that you’ll see in the show ring, working in therapy sessions, and helping the newbies adjust to life on the farm. We sat down with Boo for a few minutes and found out a little more about this special guy.
Q: How did you come to live at TLEC? A: When I first came to TLEC I was far from the beautiful paint horse you see today. Unfortunately, I had not been properly cared for and when TLEC got me I was skinny, with a large cut across my chest. I wasn’t really in the mood to talk to humans. But TLEC took me in, gave me great food, put medicine on my cut (more like a large gash), and loved on me daily |
Q: I hear there’s
an interesting story behind your name? A: When I
first came to TLEC I was pretty shy, so I
would hang out in the bushes so people
couldn’t see me. It was a brilliant
plan since I could peek my head out to
watch the different activities without being
seen. Shortly after that, they started
calling me Boo.
Q: What’s are
some of your favorite activities? A: I love
eating...it’s definitely one of my favorite
things to do. But, when I’m not eating I
enjoy giving lessons to kids and learning
new things. On Monday mornings I get
to hang out with the Womens’ Class and hear
all of the latest news. I’m not sure if
we’re supposed to be learning something
during that time, but they sure do have a
lot of fun!

Q: On your 2009
highlight film, what event ranks number one? A: Going to my
first show, naturally! It took a lot
of work and practice, but I finally got to
ride on the trailer to Will’s Park and strut
my stuff for the judge. I was pretty
nervous and excited but it was tons of fun!
I really look forward to doing that again!
Thanks Boo for
your time and for being one of the many
special personalities that makes TLEC great!
