Allyson Wesley

Allyson Wesley is currently the Barn Manager and Head Trainer at Towne Lake Equestrian Club, and resides in Woodstock, GA. She grew up in the heart of horse country in Roswell and Alpharetta, GA and began riding at the age of six.

Her management history includes over ten years experience in running her own personal farms, five years at DeLibero Show Horses, and three years at Greenway Farms. She offers a wealth of experience in not only barn management, but also equine health and nutrition. She has ridden or trained alongside some of the best trainers and coaches in Georgia and brings a fun, laid back teaching style into her programs, emphasizing the importance of safety, education, and horse psychology.

Her background includes showing in the hunters and equitation which is where her main focus is, but also really enjoys riding and showing all-around quarter horses. "I've never liked sticking to just one discipline because I feel like it limits your abilities as a horseman (or woman). I've tried as many types of riding as I could, such as reining, cutting, dressage, saddleseat, barrel racing, and even Paso Finos! I encourage my students to do the same. It makes me happy to see well-rounded riders!"
Allyson found a knack for training OTTBs (off the track thoroughbreds) and currently has one named Look Out Joe that she rescued on his way to slaughter. "Joe is the 6th OTTB that I've re-trained and was by far the toughest, but he's been so much fun! There is so much heart in those horses that they make wonderful sport horses for the right people."

She has been training horses since the age of 15 and specializes in problem horses, but also really enjoys the youngsters. She excels at matching horse and rider together, as well as finding and maintaining safe, quality school horses. She strongly believes and emphasizes teaching the fundamentals, without skipping steps, to ensure a strong rider with a strong base. She also likes to teach all aspects of horsemanship, not just the riding. Allyson likes to see her students involved with all activities at the barn, and believes that horses teach responsibility and self-confidence.
